About This Store
History Belmont Piggly Wiggly/Ace Hardware Piggly Wiggly, in Red Bay, AL was opened on March 9, 1963 when Homer Vinson fulfilled his life long ambition to own a business. He and his wife Anne leased a building from Dayton Akins. In 1968 the store was doubled to 10,000 square feet. In 1978 a brand new 17,000 sq ft building was built at its present location, previously Keeton Pulpwood Yard. Homer and his wife Anne built the store in Belmont, MS in 1974. Homer passed away in 1996 leaving the family grocery business to his son Glen Vinson, daughter Debbie Pharr, and son-in-law Greg Pharr. In 1999 they acquired the Piggly Wiggly store in Iuka. Debbie and Greg Pharr retired in 2009. On October 31, 2011, Glen added a new addition to the Belmont Store. This addition includes Belmont Ace Hardware and a Deli. Belmont Ace Hardware brings new life and convenience to the area. In 2013, TCDF named our Ace Hardware Business Of the Year.
