  • Unions:Not unlike couplings, union plastic fittings are typically easier to take apart. They are more often used as temporary plastic connectors than as permanent fixtures.
  • Caps:They don't connect pipes but close off an open end of a pipe or connector. They're often used to prevent the flow of water from one part of a tee, while leaving the option of fitting an extra pipe later to expand the installation.
  • Downspout adapters: Designed to connect square gutter pipes or similar downspouts to a round drainpipe, downspout adapters ensure the smooth flow of water without backing up.
